Privacy Policy

ConcertGuides is a free travel guide for fans coming to Korea for K-pop concerts. This page explains exactly what happens to your data when you read it.

The short version

We do not ask you for anything. There are no accounts, no logins, no newsletters, and no forms on this site, so we never collect your name, email, or payment details. The site is a set of static pages.

What we do have is analytics, ads, and affiliate links, and those are run by third parties that set cookies in your browser. Everything below is about them.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which guides people actually read and which ones are useless. It records things like the pages you visit, roughly where you are (country or city level), your device and browser, and how you got here. We use it to decide what to write next. We do not try to identify you, and we do not build profiles.

Google's own explanation of how it handles this data is here: How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block it entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Advertising

Ads on this site are served by Ezoic, which works with a number of advertising partners on our behalf. Those partners may use cookies and similar technology to measure ads and, where you have allowed it, to personalise the ads you see based on your visits to this and other sites.

Ezoic also runs the consent banner you may see on your first visit, and it records your choice. Ezoic's full description of the data it and its partners process is here: Ezoic privacy policy, with the vendor list at our Ezoic privacy portal, where you can also change or withdraw your consent at any time.

Separately, you can opt out of personalised advertising across the web at Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info.

Affiliate links, and how we make money

We do not charge for anything on this site, and we do not sell your data. The site is paid for by affiliate commissions, and you should know exactly where they are:

  • Hotel links. We run a script from Stay22("Let Me Allez") that turns the accommodation links in our guides into affiliate links to booking sites such as Booking.com and Agoda. If you book a room after clicking one, we may earn a commission from the booking site. You pay the same price either way.
  • Luggage storage links. Our luggage links go to Bounce with a referral code, which works the same way.

This does not change which hotels we recommend. We pick cheap, well-rated, transit-connected places and say honestly when the area next to a venue is overpriced, because a guide that steers you wrong is worthless to everyone including us.

Other things embedded in our pages

  • YouTube. Concert recap and member videos are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, so YouTube only sets cookies if you actually press play. Video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube's image servers.
  • Maps. Venue maps use OpenStreetMap data with map tiles served by CARTO. Loading a map means your IP address reaches their servers.
  • Images. Some venue and attraction photos are hosted on Wikimedia Commons.
  • Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs.

Cookies, and turning them off

Every cookie set on this site comes from the third parties above, not from us directly. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The guides will still work; you may just see less relevant ads.

Children

This site is written for people planning international travel and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes, and how to reach us

If we add or drop a service that touches your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If you have a question about any of this, or you want something removed, email [email protected].
