When should I line up for official concert merch, and do I need a ticket to buy it?
The official merch booths are set up outside the venue and usually open about 4 to 6 hours before the show, well before doors. The limited concert items (the tote bag, hooded towel, photocard set are the usual ones) sell out fast, so for a popular group you want to be there close to when the booth opens, not when doors open. Lines can run for hours, and many shows hand out numbered wristbands so you are not stuck standing the whole time. You generally do not need a concert ticket to buy from the outdoor booth, so fans without a seat and people arriving early can still shop. Bring a card and some cash and plan for a wait.
